As a 65 year old grandmother to 8 gorgeous kids, still working in a casual  role, you could be forgiven for thinking. I left my exercise run a bit late. My aim is to be an active, healthy role model for my grandkids, to interact positively promoting exercise.

If you were to  recommend SCUGYM&POOL to a friend what would you say?

I recommend an exercise programme to family, friends, acquaintances, anyone who stands still long enough for me to ear bash them! Any fitness level, any age can take part!

I have so enjoyed the challenges, they offer great value for money, all classes included + weekly PT. What’s not to like!

Also!! The relief from chronic painful conditions like my sciatica which has greatly improved by regular exercise, and then there’s the benefits to lowering Blood Pressure and improvements in Diabetes.

Tell us about you?

I am 87 years old, retired and I use the gym up to 5 times a week. Having had a heart-by-pass and 3 leg (vein) operations, I frequent the cardio room most of my gym time.

If you were to  recommend SCUGYM&POOL to a friend what would you say?

I like using the gym, it has more than adequate equipment for my purposes. The staff are efficient and pleasant and I seldom have to wait to use equipment. The other members seem very social and obliging– like being in a club.

Tell us about you?

I have just graduated from SCU with a bachelor of Nursing. These past 3 years have been both challenging and stressful. It was exercise that really pushed me through uni. I studied full time, did work experience, had a job and worked up to 35 hours a week. Despite this busy schedule, I always made time for exercise. I worked out twice a day! My favourite workouts were Body Pump, Body Attack and Sh’bam! I couldn’t get enough of it.

Now my schedule is even busier! About a year ago I started working in aged care as an assistant in Nursing. This year I have increased my fitness dramatically as I started attending all kinds of classes—Attack, Pump, Grit, Cycle, Balance, Defenda, SGT etc. Grit is now my favourite class.

If you were to  recommend SCUGYM&POOL to a friend what would you say?

I would highly recommend SCU gym to all my friends and anyone who wants to change their body and lifestyle like I have. SCU gym has amazing trainers who are motivated and dedicated to pushing you to your absolute limits. They are inspirational, encouraging and always have some crazy unique and fun workout up their sleeve! If you are thinking about getting fit this summer, it’s not too late to sign up for “Happy New You” 12 wk challenge, I know I am!
